The inside of the shoe has an awesome artwork that goes along with the celebratory theme.
Hats off to Adidas with this sneaker. There are not too many times where the shoe actually looks just as good as the promotional photos. I am very happy with these and cannot wait to wear these.

Why I Will Be Passing On the Air Jordan 3 Retro '88
Nike, one of the most innovative and impressive companies as well as my favorite brand is one that is so ingrained in our American Consumer culture. The company with the creative ad campaigns and the company responsible for my favorite choice of footwear-Air Jordan's now known as Jordan Brand.
Anyone that knows me knows that I love sneakers. I am always being asked "Are you getting that new pair of Jordan's that release on (insert date)?" Most of the time I do plan on making that specific purchase but there are those few instances where I decide to pass and the release of the Air Jordan 3 Retro '88 in the upcoming months of 2013 will have to be one of these times.
Now when I heard that the Air Jordan 3's were to be retroed again sometime in 2013 donning the Nike Air branding on the heel I was very excited. And I will not lie, this was a must cop for me. Many sneakerheads rejoiced that they would now be able to wear the retro that is a favorite of many with the Nike Air logo .But then I learned of other news, a suggested retail price of $200.
For that $200 price tag I would rather find myself a 2001 pair than to buy this pair. I honestly feel that this price is downright disrespectful of Jordan Brand. Think about it. This shoe has been re-released three other times as recent as 2011 granted without the Nike Air branding and instead with the Jumpman branding, and in 2011 the suggested retail price was $150. Now I'm not trying to come off as cheap because I have paid over $200 for sneakers plenty of times but honestly, this shoe is not worth a fifty dollar price increase just because of a logo change in my opinion. I will be happily content with my 2011 pair.
Yes, there is no denying that this is a pair that I would love to have but I will not fold for what I believe to be disrespect. For that matter I do not need them. Yes I will continue to buy Jordan's but not this particular pair. I know that this will fly over most sneakerhead's heads and will be regarded as rubbish, me being cheap, or being mad that i won't be able to attain a pair. None of the cases are true so I have no problem with that. And this is in no way trying to stop people from buying this shoe, these are just my personal thoughts that others may share as well.
This also has nothing to do with the possible quality of this release. Many sneakerheads complain about recent releases not holding up to the quality of the early 2000 models. Yes it is true that the quality is lacking, but I believe that if the quality was a real issue then these sneakers would not be flying off the shelves, this is an issue of what I believe to be ethics.

Old WDDWT from Dec 4th, 2012
While I was trying to edit this blog I accidentally deleted an older WDDWT post. I can't remember what the subject was but here are the pictures below.
I do know that this is me walking through Stankowski Field heading to Dobbs dining hall.

When I finally got home
Once again I do not remember what this post was about.

Lauren by Ralph Lauren Light Weight Peacoat Pickup
Lauren by Ralph Lauren Light Weight Peacoat (Please excuse the unmade bed!) |
I have been to Maude Vintage plenty of times, but I usually have no luck finding items in my size so I thought that going there would be like any other day. And as soon as I walked in I saw this right near the entrance! For sure it would not be my size, but to my surprise it was so I jumped on it and for only $30.00 it was a steal!
I have been looking for a new winter coat for a while now but I am real particular about what I buy and since Missouri has been having a warmer winter this season I have been holding off. But I saw this and could not pass on the price.
The picture is not the best but be sure to look for it in my What Did Dre Wear Today

New Years WDDWT
I hope everyone is having a great start to 2013! I celebrated the New Years in Kansas City, MO with some friends by going to Power and light which is a great entertainment district located downtown Kansas City. We were Fortunate to stay at the Sheraton Hotel as Platinum Members thanks to one of my friend's mother and her frequent stays.
We stayed in the hotel to hangout and eat a free meal (complementary all you can eat wings, veggies, etc) which was great. Soon after that we decided to head out.
Happy New Years to all! Let me know what you think about the outfits below!http://dsmileywright.blogspot.com/search/labels/Events
